Duet style poem composed on July 18, 2009
Not boiling… not freezing… just settling…
Not living... not dying… just breathing…
Not temporal… not eternal… just momental…
Not partial… not unconditional… just substantial…
Not progressing… not deproving… just surviving...
Not constructing… not destructing… just standing...
No hating… no loving… just feeling…
No suffering… no rejoicing… just contenting...
No stability… no calamity… just serenity...
No loyalty… no treachery… just serendipity...
No resentment… no commitment… just enjoyment...
No past… no future… just the present…
The poem is about ambiguity… Trapped in between two worlds be it career, business or relationship most of the time we are stuck in the middle of things. Still we should be reminded to enjoy whatever comes to our lives… forgive and forget the past, never mind about the future and just enjoy the present - that is why it is called the ‘present’ because it is a gift of life…
In terms of style, this poem is best suited to be a duet poem between a male and a female voice – trapped in a mutual attraction but an ambiguous relationship, each of them will throw a line one after another and at the very last two lines with one voice end the poem together.
Disclaimer: Poem inspired by friends who are going through this.
