POST HONEYMOON SYNDROME

Poem composed on February 15, 2011

A simple sentence
Awakens an argument
An awful argument
Rolls one into reality

I love you...
I love you not

A constructive criticism
Implies an insult
An irresponsible insult
Drives one into depression

I miss you...
I miss you not

The soul is flying above the ground
Yet the spirit is under the vow bound

I miss you not
I miss you...

The heart is filled with loathe
Yet the mind is full of the oath

I love you not
I love you...

Destiny
Includes such reality
Fate
Demands strong faith

All the symptoms
Of Post Honeymoon Syndrome
Are all merely emotion
While love is a decision

    Let a simple phrase
    Put the argument to rest
    An awfully simple phrase
    Unfolds into actuality

    'I am sorry, truly'
    'Truly, I am sorry'

    Let a simple gesture
Replies to the doubts in mind
    Through a responsible action
    Frees one out of depression

    'I miss you, truly'
    'Truly, I miss you'

The soul will be lifted up and unbound
The spirit honors the ground of the vow
With the heart reminded of oath
The mind will melt away the loathe

    And in one's life reality
    Demands minds of such clarity
And in the matter of destiny
    Demands hearts with no disparity

    All the symptoms point to
    Temporary misinterpretation
Cause love is truly the only clue
    That bears that emotional decision

    'All will be well, truly'
    'Truly, all will be well'
