Poem composed on September 2, 2009
Quick was the quake
Slow was the shake
Still it calls for a wake
Mothernature is awake
Continuously we all take
Exploiting with a rake
Natural habitats we forsake
Till lands crumble and flake
This poem is inspired by the earthquake Jakarta has just experienced. The epicenter was 35km deep, located southwest of Tasikmalaya measuring 7.3 RS. This poem is not that accurate in a way because the quake was not caused by the anger of mother earth. This poem however, indicates that the quake was the result of angry mothernature towards men’s exploitation of earth…
